Bel-Air Bay Club Summer Wedding
Pacific Palisades, California
Kelly and Duncan’s story
Dear David,
I want to thank you for a job well done. When the power went out, your staff jumped into the void and was a matter of great help. Rod and Edwin also said that they have seen many, many weddings at the Bel Air Bay Club and that you were the BEST wedding planner they have ever worked with.
Anne, Mother-of-the-Bride
On a beautiful and hot July afternoon, Kelly and Duncan returned to the Bel-Air Bay club from St. Monica's Catholic Church in Santa Monica, CA, where they were married before their families and friends. On the lawn overlooking the Pacific, games, tray-passed appetizers, and plenty of cold beverages awaited everyone as the temperature soared.
With more guests than the Club had ever had for a wedding, the heat was the last thing on anyone's mind as guests entered the dining room for a multi-course and elegant dinner service.
At some point during dinner service, someone from the Club discreetly told me that the AC had died and that there had been a power outage along the Pacific Coast Highway. I have long believed that something is bound to go wrong during an event and that making a big deal about it serves no purpose, especially with the client. So, while there was a flicker of light as the backup generator kicked in and the lights stayed on, I never said a word about the AC failure because why would I upset my clients about something that no one could fix, and telling them would only take the focus off the great time everyone was having.
